Mike's Blues/Rock-ography

When I graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 1984 with my degree in Industrial Technology I hardly envisioned I'd find myself immersed in music performance and education. None the less, after 17 years in the Aerospace and Marine industries, here I am following my passion!

I arrived in Duvall in 1993 and fired up my music studio in 2003. Since opening my studio I've had the great pleasure to work with kids, adults and entire families in Carnation, Duvall, Monroe, Redmond and Woodinville to develop their own musical passions.

In my role as a family man and a father of two daughters I've become very aware of the importance that mentors and role models can play in helping kids navigate their way into adulthood. I do my best to do a little more than just teach music by introducing positive attitudes and values that help my students develop motivation and confidence.

My goal with every student is to share the skills I've learned over the years and help them apply those skills to their own musical tastes.

Another specialty of mine is working with special needs kids or those with learning disabilities. I am always happy to coordinate with their other instructors and make a point of being flexible and adapting to their individual needs.
