My instruction emphasizes what I call the 4 Ts for guitars; tuning, tone, timing and technique. For drums we'll focus on intros, beats, transitions, fills, turn-arounds, soloing, stops and endings. These are the fundamental elements needed to play. Beyond the basics we'll cover theory, modes, scales, effects, and gear to help you develop an in-depth understanding of your instrument.
The whole point of lessons is to increase your skill level and that can't happen without home practice. I ask my students to commit to at least one hour per day of practice. If you don't practice I'll notice of course, but the person that you're really short changing is you. Practice is the key to maximizing your progress and enjoyment.
I offer both private and group lessons. Private lessons are one-on-one instruction tailored specifically to the sudent's learning style. My group lessons match students of similar age and skill levels in a traditional group where all the students play the same instrument and we go over exercises and songs together, or in a band group where each student plays a different instrument as part of a band.

| Beginner Guitar - Students learn tuning and getting good tones. There will be a lot of memorization and some tablature reading. Once comfortable with basic strumming patterns and chord changes, students will begin learning simple songs. Drums - Focus will be on rudiments leading into song formatting and specifics of percussion styles. |
|
| Intermediate Guitar - As an intermediate player you'll progress to more complex timing patterns and learn phrasings of power chord progressions. New skills will include lead riffs, hammer ons, pull offs, vibrato, string bending, sliding, tapping, pinch harmonics and more. Drums - Basic percussion skills will be applied to more complex songs in parallel with guitars and keyboards. |

| Advanced Guitar - Drums - I take my advanced students as far as we can go together. Ideally I'd like to see all my students progress beyond my ability to teach them. The anatomy of musical diversification is endless. As an advanced player I will help you develop the unique aspects of your individual style. We'll find your strengths and build on them so you can show off your chops! |
